Artists and critics have dubbed his singing as "wild", a status that he carries with pride and overall his way of expressing flamenco has an attractive ancient, atavistic meaning seldom heard. Hardened by the more archaic Jerez, he was born in the heart of The Plazuela and is not just any singer. Manuel knows exactly where he comes from and where he is going and unlike others he does not hide his love for 'the past', or for the 'dance' song.

His natural instincts have enabled him to also sing solo or 'front', as it is called in flamenco jargon. Among his outstanding interpretive qualities is his vast domain of the songs, not only is he able to perform the matrix of songs with competency, but he can also perform any variant type and style.
