Carles Trepat has studied with the most important classical guitarists: Emilio Pujol, Eduardo Sainz de la Maza, Eulogio Dávalos, José Tomás, Rafael Andía and Alberto Ponce. He made his début at the Teatro Real in Madrid as the winner of the first “Concurso Permanente de Jóvenes Intérpretes de Juventudes Musicales” (“Permanent Contest of Young Artists of Youth Musicals”).

He has received awards in the most prestigious international guitar contests: The Tárrega Prize at the International Guitar Contest Francisco Tárrega in Benicásim, a Special award by the Jury at the International Contest from Havana and the First Prize in the 5th International Contest of Toronto.
